Work begins on Highline II

Greenstone Corp. has started work on the Highline II building in Kendall Yards west of downtown Spokane.

At 1104 W. Summit Parkway, it will be similar to — and directly east of — the Highline Lofts, Greenstone’s first Kendall Yards retail-apartment building.

Like its predecessor building, Highline II will have 24 apartments on two upper floors that take up about 18,000 square feet.

The main level for retail or commercial use measures 9,000 square feet.

Construction is expected to cost $2.5 million, with occupancy expected in summer 2015, said Greenstone commercial manager Adam Jones. He will start announcing tenants in spring 2015.

Pet supply store relocates

Prairie Dog Mercantile, a pet food and supply store, will move to new digs at 5608 S. Regal St. at the end of October. The business is leasing 2,000 square feet in the new retail development on South Regal built by Ahmad Hagigi.

Owner Amy Barker said the move is prompted by shortage of space at her first store, at 2917 E. Palouse Hwy.

Guy Byrd of Cornerstone Property Advisors and Steve McIntosh of Kiemle & Hagood arranged the lease.

Gonzaga buys Knights’ building

Gonzaga University has purchased the Knights of Columbus building at 302 E. Boone Ave., for $852,500.

The Catholic fraternal group will now lease about 20 percent of the building from GU while it looks for a new location.

Gonzaga will eventually take over the building for future expansion. The property measures about 39,000 square feet.

Bankcda buys BofA branch

Bankcda bought the former Bank of America branch at 162 W. Hayden Ave. in Hayden for an undisclosed amount.

Coeur d’Alene-based Bankcda officials say the location will provide more convenience for North Idaho customers.

Its first three branches are in Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Kellogg.
