Obituary: Curtis, Helen (Knapp)
Age 90
Helen was the daughter of Orlando and Nellie (Love) Knapp and was born in Erie, PA on May 22, 1924.
During her childhood she spent summers with her family at Lake Pleasant, PA, and had many fond memories of the lake.
She went to work for the State Department shortly after high school, where she worked for 35 years.
One of her most memorable tours was to Iran in the 1950s.
Upon retirement, she moved to Spokane to be closer to her family.
Her many interests included: reading, history, needlework, tracing her family genealogy, antiquing, and caring for young children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Loren, Howard, and Earl.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Knapp, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Helen’s family would like to thank Angie at Cathedral Plaza, and all of the staff at St. Philomena’s Finest Adult Family Home and Horizon Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care of Helen, and support of her family.
At her request, no services will be held.
