I was there with my Mom…sister…brother and some of my cousins; we had a great time, saw Up with People too!

Leah Martin DragonsGirl

I was 6 yrs old…I remember it! Was the best time of my life!

Kathleen Ann Duchow

I don’t remember seeing the group, but DO remember laughing hysterically with friends as we got kind of air sick while watching our first ever IMAX movie… of the plane flying across America. It took our breath away!

Marv Hammerman

I bought a floppy leather hat with a peace sign in the middle of it. Wore it every day for a year.

Katherine Conterez

I was a volunteer – for helping people in wheelchairs tour the events for the morning, you had the rest of the entire day free to run all over the place!

John F Teters

Up Up with people you meet them where ever you go, up up with people, they’re the best kind of folks you know … there’s more people more people … Thanks. Now this song will be in my head the rest of the day … sheeesh.

Jeff Hardin

I traveled with Up With People in 1979 and also performed with them at the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, TN. That fair was set up much like the Spokane fair. King Cole was instrumental in both of them.

Jackie Specht

I used to walk to the fair almost every day. I would get a bowl of French onion soup at the French restaurant. It was so good.

ChazBetz Bowman

I worked at the Coliseum during the World’s Fair. I was 17 years old. I got to see every performance that was at the Coliseum for free. Which meant every concert and show that played there.

Our whole family had season tickets. We were down there all the time with our kids in strollers! Expo ’74 made our city what it is today. We have a beautiful park on a beautiful river that will be enjoyed forever.

The Steel Drums playing on the floating stage. The South Koreans wanted a picture of our 1-year-old daughter and they put it on their magazine cover. They gave her a set of dishes with cups and saucers. She still has them. Henry Fonda playing Clarence Darrow at the Opera House. We had season tickets and were there A LOT.
