Obituary: Sarchet, Jean Baptiste

Age 93

SARCHET, Jean Baptiste (Age 93) Jean passed away on November 23, 2013, at Hospice House of Spokane after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on October 13, 1920, in Islay, Alberta, Canada to Cecil and Elizabeth Sarchet.

He grew up one of four boys in Lamont, Washington and his family eventually moved to Pullman, WA.

He attended Washington State College and the University of Washington, where he spent his nights performing at the Showboat Theater.

Jean met his wife Mickey Sarchet in Canada when he served as an instructor with the Royal Canadian Air Force.

After graduating from WSC, they moved to Colfax, Washington and eventually lived the rest of their lives in Spokane, Washington where Jean managed the Monarch Life Insurance Spokane office.

Jean is survived by his daughter Gail Sarchet (David Sackville-West, Annie and Tom); granddaughters Darcy Dixon (H.P.

Canwell, Molly and Ramona), Cassi Dixon (Niki Singlaub, Greyson and Hannah); and brother William Sarchet.

His wife Geraldine Ruth (Mickey) Sarchet, oldest daughter Robin Lee Sarchet and two brothers preceded him in death.

During his last days, he spoke of how blessed he had been during his life and the many happy memories he had of his two beloved granddaughters, wonderful friends, raising and showing Arabian horses, his love of music, developing and selling property, acting at the Showboat and his many years of wonderful memories at Priest Lake.

Per his request there will be no memorial services.

A private celebration of life and scattering of ashes will take place this summer at Priest Lake.
