Area women’s soccer programs load up
The first-year women’s soccer coaches at Idaho, Washington State and Eastern Washington were busy collecting letters of intent on Wednesday, with the schools announcing a total of 23 commitments.
• First-year Idaho coach Derek Pittman signed nine players: Olivia Baggerly and Chloe Bell of Canby, Ore.; Josilyn Daggs of Carson City, Nev.; Andes Archibald and Bret Baysinger of Richland; Kaitlyn Joy of Dripping Springs, Texas; Bethany Lelefeld of Boring, Ore.; Ashley Engberg of Moscow, Idaho; and Kimberly Gerken of Kingston, Wash.
• First-year Washington State coach Steve Nugent signed five players: Jordan Branch of Sammamish, Wash.; Kelsee Crenshaw of Marysville, Wash.; Ella Dederick of Camarillo, Calif.; Simone Gunsolus of Kenmore, Wash.; and Allie Lawrence of San Jose, Calif.
• First-year EWU coach Chad Bodnar announced nine commitments: Bria Afoa of Kapolei, Hawaii; M’Kenna Hayes of Kent, Wash.; Savannah Hoekstra of Central Valley High; Kendall Loreth of Leavenworth, Wash.; Caylah Lunning of Moses Lake; Tasha Luu of Colville; Monica Rowley of Richland; Sydney Shintaffer of West Richland, Wash.; and Chloe Williams of Lewis and Clark High.
• At Gonzaga, coach Amy Edwards announced the signing of Brittany Doan of Carlsbad, Calif.; Allie Boehmer of San Diego; and Tianna Helm of Cashmere, Wash.
