Casino opposition a waste

The Spokane County commissioners have spent over $300,000 on high-priced Seattle lawyers to fight the creation of over 5,000 jobs and an influx of $450 million worth of private investment in Spokane County? They say it is to protect Fairchild Air Force Base, but this economic development project by the Spokane Tribe has been proven multiple times to have no negative impact to Fairchild.

Fairchild, the U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, leading Base Realignment and Closure experts and the Federal Aviation Administration have all said it is not a problem. It appears that the county commissioners feel they are smarter than all of the aforementioned government entities.

The commissioners are spending our hard-earned tax dollars foolishly – again. They aren’t finished either; they are still running up a big bill with these out-of-town attorneys who are charging hundreds of dollars per hour.

First, they buy a race track that is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars, then an expensive misguided ballot issue to remove a mobile home park, now this. Call your county commissioners and tell them to stop wasting our money.
