Obituary: Harlander, Duane Elwin
Age 77
Duane was born May 6, 1935 in Bellingham, WA to Reverend and Mrs. Albert Harlander.
After graduating from Bellingham High School, Duane enlisted in the Navy.
Duane then made his military career in the U.S. Air Force.
During his 20 years in the Air Force Duane was stationed throughout the U.S. as well as Morocco and Japan.
Duane also was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, 1966-67.
While stationed in Bozeman, Mt, with the ROTC Program, Duane retired honorably from the Air Force on August 31, 1975.
He then moved his family to Spokane, WA, where he started his second career at Deaconess Hospital on April, 1978 and retired August 1998.
Duane loved the Lord, his family and his Country and was a loyal friend to all.
Duane our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend; until we meet again you will be sorely missed.
Duane is survived by his wife Helen of 15 years; daughter, Laura (Steve) Yelm, WA; son, Dale (Michelle) Spokane, WA; brother, Dean (Marian) Stan wood, WA; grandchildren, Rebecca, (Jared) W. Richland WA; Cristin, (Frank) Olympia, WA; Audra, Spokane WA; Nicholas (Christine) Spokane, WA; Michael (Elieia) Spokane, WA; Amanda Spokane, WA.
Duane has six soon to be seven great grandchildren and our precious little one in Heaven.
Duane is also survived by his niece, Cheryl (Alden) WA; nephew, Dwight (Sharon) CA; also grandniece and nephews.
A memorial will be held at the Washington State Veterans Memorial Cemetery Medical Lake at a later date.
