Woman who died in climbing wall fall identified

From staff reports
Police have identified the woman who fell off a Post Falls climbing wall and died on Friday as 37-year-old Megan C. Mitchell. Post Falls police said Mitchell was not climbing but was drinking on top of the ledge of a wall often used for rock climbing in Q’emiln Park when she fell about 50 feet over the edge. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. and had to search for Mitchell. Kootenai County Fire and Rescue began medical aid on scene, but the woman suffered major trauma from the fall and was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no indication of foul play.
