Prep golfers praised

Spokane high school golfers  I have watched these last four years consistently demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship I have seen in any high school sport.

My kids have been involved in many team sports the past years, and golf certainly stands out as a sport in which competitors routinely support and compliment each other on great shots.

I have spent most of my time watching my daughter and the girls golf, but believe the high level of sportsmanship applies to the boys as well. At state tournaments I have observed the Spokane girls pull together as a group, offering words of praise and encouragement. This extends to the coaches, who always have a kind word to offer to their own girls and competitors alike. Our high school golfers can feel proud of not only their ability on the course, but of the character they demonstrate.

The State 4A and 3A championships will be held in Spokane this year so if you get a chance, come and see for yourself how wonderfully these athletes represent their schools and the entire Spokane community.
