Occupy struggle goes on
With the passing of the Occupy movement, it is time for us as a community to take some time and reflect on what has been accomplished by those who took to the streets. A conversation has started in this nation about our future and what it will hold for those of us who are just starting our professional lives. Times are tough and each of us fresh from college must struggle to make ends meet and to live a comfortable life.
However, just as a sword is tempered from hammering and heat, so too will our generation rise stronger from the hardships we face. The time to protest in the streets has passed, rather the time has come to forge a future. It is our time to start shaping this world around us. We need not fight the system; we must become a new and better system.
As a person who works for a Web design firm, as well as being a student, I can tell you the struggle is hard and many days I feel like giving up. However, I also know that the accomplishment that comes with changing the world makes it worth it.
