Stanley Ross was born in Spokane, Washington.
His parents were George W. Ross and Maude Hallett Ross.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 where he served in the Philippines.
After returning from military service he married Kathryn King, his high school classmate, and joined his father in the family printing business; Ross Printing Company.
He succeeded his father as the president of the 95-year-old company and served in that position until his retirement.
During his business career he was a member of and provided leadership in many community organizations including the Spokane Exchange Club, Spokane Lilac Festival Association, Prosperity Club and many other community endeavors.
Mr.
Ross was a 60-year member and elder at Manito Presbyterian Church.
In addition, he was a member of Masonic Lodges and the El Katif Shrine where he played in the band.
He also belonged to Manito Golf and Country Club and the Spokane Club.
He and his wife maintained a home in La Quinta, California and were members of the Club at PGA West.
One of his greatest joys was playing his clarinet with a group of friends in the Seagram’s 7 Dixieland Band.
Mr.
Ross is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his son, Alan G. Ross (Shannon) of Spokane; and his daughter, Marcia L. Fromhold of Olympia, WA.
He is also survived by his grandsons: Willis R. Costello of Dublin, CA, Samuel A. Costello of Olympia, WA, Benjamin H. Ross of Spokane, and Stanley P. Ross of Seattle, WA; as well as three great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Jet.
A private funeral service will be held.
