Canadians eliminate Tri-City for title

Vancouver defeated Tri-City 9-2 on Sunday to win the Northwest League baseball championship at Vancouver, B.C.

The Canadians used two big innings to win the series 2-1.

Pierce Rankin’s two-run single highlighted a three-run fourth inning.

Jonathon Berti’s leadoff home run sparked a five-run seventh inning as Vancouver put the game away.

Balbino Fuenmayor added a two-run triple in the seventh.
