Idaho man accused in pregnant wife’s death freed on bond

Associated Press
MOSCOW — A North Idaho man accused of killing his pregnant wife and then setting the home on fire has been freed after posting a $200,000 bond. A 2nd District judge set bail for Silas Parks last week, following a decision by Latah County prosecutors to not seek the death penalty in the case. Parks posted bond on Christmas Eve and made a court appearance in Latah County on Monday. As part of his release, he is required to live with his parents, adhere to a 9 p.m. curfew and report to the jail every Monday and Friday, among other conditions. Parks is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson in connection with the June 24 death of his pregnant wife, 28-year-old Sarah J. Parks. He has pleaded not guilty.
