Panthers knock off Dragons 33-30

Sophomore Dakota Littlecrow threw in a 3-point shot – her only basket of the game – with 18 seconds left to break a tie and give Cusick a 33-30 Panorama League win over visiting St. George’s on Saturday.

Cusick (9-3, 7-3) never led until Littlecrow hit her winning bucket. The Panthers were paced by Holly Edwards, who scored 11 points, and Ashley Keogh, who added 10.

Molly O’Brien finished with a game-high 11 points for St. George’s (5-5, 4-1), which suffered its first league loss.

Curlew 44, Wellpinit 37: Larissa Miller dumped in 24 points – 10 of which came in the second quarter – and teammate Chanel Somday added 11 as the host Cougars (7-7, 5-6) slipped past the Redskins (2-8, 1-6), who were led by Niquie Ali’s 15 points.

Springdale 56, Northport 33: Shyanne Wilson scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds in leading the visiting Chargers (11-1, 5-1) past the winless Mustangs (0-11, 0-8), who got a team-high 13 points from Jerika Cummings and 12 more from Kelsey Fitzgerald.

Remi Dombrowki finished with five assists and three steals for Springdale.

Columbia (Hunters) 55, Republic 29: The visiting and league-leading Lions (11-1, 9-0) used balanced scoring and a fast-paced offense that produced a lot of easy transition baskets to breeze past the host Tigers (2-11, 1-7).

Salena Osborne finished with a team-high 10 points for Columbia, which also got nine points from Mackenzie Parrow and eight apiece from Josie Kieffer and Lindsay Loe. Tori Orestad paced Republic with seven points.

Selkirk 50, St. Michael’s 41: Maria Villegas hit three of her four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high 23 points in leading the Rangers (8-4, 5-0) past the Warriors (3-7, 2-6) at Ione.

Villegas scored 12 of her points in the final period, as Selkirk outscored St. Michael’s 17-12 to preserve its third-quarter lead. Kammi Sharp pulled down a team-high nine rebounds for the winners, while Katie Drass led a balanced Warriors’ attack with 11 points.

Intermountain League

Kellogg 47, Priest River 44: Marah Ashcraft scored 12 points to lead the visiting Wildcats (4-9, 2-4) to a come-from-behind win over the Spartans (5-7, 3-2), who got a game-high 16 points from Melissa Hopkins, but lost two starters – including Jamie Koch, who finished with 15 points – on fouls.

Kellogg was trailing 33-30 after three quarters, but made 11 of 18 free throws in the final period to dig out the victory.

Timberlake 56, Orofino 20: The league-leading Tigers (10-3, 5-0) used a balanced scoring attack and stifling half-court man-to-man defensive pressure to romp past the visiting Maniacs at Spirit Lake. Cassie Thompson scored 11 points for the winners, who also got 10 from Caitlyn Nichols.

Bi-County League 2B

Reardan 42, Valley Christian 22: Sara Wilke poured in a season-high 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and made three steals in leading the Indians (8-4, 4-2) to an easy win over the visiting Panthers (1-9, 0-5), who got 10 points from Katie Worley.

Lind-Ritzville 52, Liberty 39: Emmy Bouwman and Kelsey Arlt each tossed in 16 points to lead the visiting Broncos (7-4, 4-2) past the Lancers (7-4, 2-3), who were paced by Teara Cornmesser’s 17 points.

Liberty was trailing by six with about 3 minutes left in the game, when Arlt hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put the game away.

Davenport 43, Northwest Christian 26: Miranda Mielke scored 12 points to lead a balanced Davenport attack, and the visiting Gorillas (6-4, 3-2) went on to shove aside the Crusaders (6-6, 2-4), who got 11 points from Jessica Dahm and 12 rebounds and five steals from Amelia Fairburn.

Non-league

Coeur d’Alene 60, Glacier 22: The No. 1-ranked and unbeaten Vikings, after building a 12-point halftime lead, outscored the visiting Wolves from Kalispell 35-9 in the second half and breezed to another easy victory.

Kama Griffitts scored 15 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for CdA (16-0), which also got 12 points from Amy Warbrick and 10 from Sadie Simon.

Troy 42, Kootenai 7: The visiting Trojans held the shorthanded Warriors to just two second-half points in posting a lopsided victory at Harrison. Kootenai (0-11 ) has lost one player to a broken arm and another to appendicitis.

LaCrosse-Washtucna 47, Touchet 35: Kelly Zimmer scored 10 of her team-high 19 points in the final quarter, and also chased down 11 rebounds as the Tigercats (2-6) held off the visiting Indians, who were paced by Ashley Humburt’s 20 points. Della Flemming helped Lac-Wash’s cause with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Colfax 59, Almira/Coulee-Hartline: At Coulee City, Kayla Johnson threw in 15 points to lead a quartet of double-figure scorers for visiting Colfax, and the Bulldogs (9-2) went on to hand the Warriors (10-1) their first loss of the year.

Brittney Burke and Emily Shaw each finished with 13 points for Colfax, while Nikki Osborne posted a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double for ACH.

Garfield-Palouse 44, Liberty Christian 41: Tianna Woltering pumped in a game-high 18 points to spark the visiting Vikings (10-2) to a victory over the Patriots, who did not foul near the end of the game, allowing Gar-Pal to run out the clock and protect its lead.

Colton 69, Tri-Cities Prep 26: Unbeaten and top-ranked Colton (10-0) roared to a 20-5 first-quarter lead and never let up in dismantling the host Jaguars.

Chelsea Meyer finished with 14 points for the Wildcats, who also got 10 from Kelsey Moser. Kailey Calvert led Prep with 14 points.

Bonners Ferry 56, Sandpoint 23: Erin Hiatt scored all of her game-high 17 points in the first three quarters and then sat out the final period and watched her visiting Badgers teammates finish off the Bulldogs (1-12), who failed to place a scorer in double figures.

Bonners (8-3) also got 12 points from Alicia Hedrick and won the spirit award in the first Moose Madness spirit game that played out in front of a sellout crowd of more than 800.
