Matthew McConaughey – who’s frequently photographed shirtless and exercising on the beach – has been named People magazine’s bachelor of the year.

“I love warm weather and summertime,” the 37-year-old actor says in the magazine’s “Hottest Bachelors” issue, which hits newsstands today.

“What better way to enjoy it than at the beach, where few people wear shirts?”

When asked how he maintains his muscular build, McConaughey says: “I don’t really have a workout regimen I follow. I just live my life. My goal is to break a sweat each day.”

As for the ladies, he adds: “What I look for in a woman is what I love to call the ‘two Hs’ – hotness and humor. But to be honest, a woman with a good sense of humor is always hot.”

The magazine’s other “sexy and sizzling” bachelors include Adrian Grenier, Zach Braff, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Reynolds, Ludacris, Apolo Ohno – and David Spade?

Says Spade: “Luckily we live in a world where women can overlook the physical and focus on things more important, like having a good personality … or being on a TV show.”

Do ya think he’s guilty?

Then there’s Rod Stewart‘s 26-year-old son, Sean, who was arrested this week on charges he assaulted a couple with a brick.

The couple claim he started swinging his arms and throwing bricks and other items at them as they drove past a party at a home in the Hollywood Hills in April.

Stewart, a co-star of the reality show “Sons of Hollywood,” faces felony charges including assault with a deadly weapon, throwing a substance at a vehicle and vandalism.

He’s wanted that way

Former boy-band mogul Lou Pearlman was arrested in an Indonesian hotel early Thursday for bank fraud and turned over to U.S. law enforcement officials.

Pearlman allegedly defrauded about 1,000 investors of more than $315 million by selling a bogus savings account plan, then using their money to cover his losses in other businesses.

He was the brains behind such boy bands as the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync in the 1990s.

A lot of mouths to K-feed

Kevin Federline‘s camp is denying reports that the ex-Mr. Britney Spears is not only back with former flame Shar Jackson, but that she’s carrying his baby – again.

Federline had two children with the “Moesha” actress before he and Spears had two more of their own, and Jackson was once quoted as saying, “I would have 20 more kids.”

Sexpot calling the kettle wack

Speaking of the recently rehabbed Britney Spears, she’s having a little fun at similarly troubled gal pal Lindsay Lohan’s expense.

On her Web site, Spears is asking fans to help her name her upcoming album, with choices including “What if the Joke is on You,” “Down boy,” “Integrity,” “Dignity” and “Omg Is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like.”
