GU’s Reha earns WCC honor

Gonzaga University junior midfielder John Reha of Tacoma was named the West Coast Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Reha led the Bulldogs to a weekend sweep of Portland. He had three assists in the two matches, including assists on both match-winning goals as Gonzaga posted a pair of 2-1 victories.

Women’s golf

Gonzaga’s Sarah Sheffield shot a final-round 2-under-par 70 for a three-round score of 223 and a tie for 10th at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces.

Mary Kate Morgan closed with a 79 to finish tied for 52nd with a 235.

GU shot a 948 to finish last in the 17-team field.

Kelly Nakshima finished tied for 19th for 12th-place Idaho.

Leuhua Wise earned medalist honors with an even-par 214 to help New Mexico State win the event by six strokes over runner-up Baylor.
