The University Titans were tested by North Central on Friday night, but survived for a 21-6 Greater Spokane League victory at Joe Albi Stadium, their first road game since the season opener in Coeur d’Alene.

The victory was a prelude to Thursday’s game between the playoff-contending Titans (4-2 overall, 4-1 in the GSL) and Ferris (5-1, 4-1) at Albi.

Tyler Carlson, who averaged nearly 10 yards per carry (182 yards on 19 attempts), scored touchdowns in each of the first two quarters as U-Hi increased the lead to 21-0 over the Indians (0-6, 0-5).

NC’s Aaron Robinson completed 21 of 25 passes for 208 yards and the Indians touchdown.

Gonzaga Prep 35, Shadle Park 0: The GSL-leading Bullpups (6-0, 5-0) let their defense and special teams do the work in the shutout victory over the Highlanders (1-5, 1-4).

The first two touchdowns by Johnny Jones came following blocked punts. G-Prep added three third-quarter scores, including David Kries’ 19-yard interception return.

Shadle managed just 90 yards of total offense, while 10 backs for G-Prep divided up 207 yards on the ground.

Lewis and Clark 40, Rogers 0: The Tigers (5-1) scored in every quarter, by six different players, and had 345 yards of total offense in victory over the Pirates (0-5). Garrett Saiki and Marcus Vogt combined for 154 rushing yards for the Tigers.
