Becky Lowther scored a game-high 21 points as host Bonners Ferry beat Sandpoint 62-40 in a non-league girls basketball game on Saturday.

Kaitie Poston added 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Badgers.

Bonners Ferry (3-1) converted on 13 free throws in the fourth quarter and outscored the Bulldogs (0-1) 23-10.

In another non-league game, Tabitha Clark scored 16 points and Lacy Hopkins added 12 as Priest River beat host Lakeland 68-65. The Spartans outscored the Hawks 24-11 in the fourth quarter to erase a 10-point deficit. Jamie Koch, Erin Salesky and Taylor Stewart scored eight points apiece for Priest River (2-1). Camille Reynolds led Lakeland (0-3) with 25 points and Natalie Nichols chipped in with 13.

Boys basketball

Andrew Scott led Priest River (1-0) with 20 points and four steals as the Spartans beat visiting Clark Fork 79-58 in a non-league season-opening boys basketball game. Jared Broggi led the Wampus Cats (0-1) with 17 points and nine rebounds and Mike Martin added 14 points. … In another non-league season-opener, Ryan Armbruster scored 22 points and Pete Gibson added 19 as Sandpoint (1-0) beat host Bonners Ferry (0-1) 75-63. The Bulldogs led 32-20 at halftime and never looked back.
