And then there were two. With Wednesday night’s elimination of Elliott Yamin, just two finalists for this year’s title of “American Idol” remain: Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee. Next Wednesday, one will be picked through viewer voting to follow in the footsteps of the first four Idols – Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino and Carrie Underwood – and win a record contract. The finale will air from 8 to 10 p.m. on Fox (KAYU-28, cable channel 3 in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene). Here’s a closer look at the last two singers standing.
