The Erickson connection

Mississippi coach Ed Orgeron (pictured) is one of several Division I-A coaches who have worked as an assistant coach for Dennis Erickson. Orgeron coached with Erickson at Miami, as did Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville and Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick. Michigan State coach John L. Smith coached with Erickson at Idaho, Wyoming and Washington State. San Jose State coach Dick Tomey was an Erickson assistant with the San Francisco 49ers.
