A teenage girl died and three boys were injured when the pickup they were riding in overturned on a road by Dworshack Dam near Orofino Friday night.

None of the teens, all aged 17, was wearing a seat belt, said officers from the Idaho State Police in a press release.

The girl, Vanessa Davaz, was thrown from the pickup along with Cody Mellott. The three boys were taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital. Jacob S. Bunyard of Orofino was driving the 1985 Ford truck when he tried to take a left curve and lost control of the vehicle, police said.

Woman hurt in I-90 rollover

A Spokane woman was injured Friday after a rollover accident on Interstate 90 in Spokane Valley.

Samantha R. Hill, 28, was driving eastbound about 4:50 p.m. when she decided to make a lane change near milepost 295, just west of Appleway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

To avoid hitting another vehicle, she drove to the inside shoulder but ended up overcorrecting to the right, according to a press release. Her pickup moved all the way across the road, rolling over once before landing on its wheels. She was wearing a seat belt.

Hill was transported to Deaconess Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

According to the press release, Hill may have been following another vehicle too closely. The accident remains under investigation.
