School District Cleared
The office of the state superintendent of public instruction has cleared Spokane School District 81 of alleged file tampering in a case involving a Madison Elementary School student.
A parent of a third-grader asked for a state investigation in August after she found two sets of psychological evaluation records in her son’s file. One set was missing a date.
She accused school personnel of falsifying records to cover up unapproved observations of her son.
Investigator Leslie Weaver couldn’t find “any evidence to explain why there were two versions of the same form” and concluded that observations of the student were legal. , DataTimes
