Apartment Searched In Baby Sitter’s Death

Police searched another apartment in the complex where a baby sitter was stabbed to death but said little about what they found or what led them there.

The resident, whom officers had hoped to question, was away when the search warrant was served Friday night at his unit. A police spokeswoman would not say what police found or were seeking, nor did she give the man’s name.

His relationship to Cassandra Sue Werndli, 12, stabbed to death Aug. 31 while watching a 7-month-old child in another unit of the complex, was unclear, the spokeswoman said.
