Trickel Treats University To Win Over Ferris

With 6 minutes remaining, University’s Shoni Trickel stopped a penalty kick to preserve a 2-1 win over second-place Ferris in a Greater Spokane League soccer match Friday at Ferris.

Sara Streufert and Heather Salescored in the first half for the Titans.

Ferris’ Karie Pruett scored the Saxons’ goal at 65 minutes.

Both teams are 4-2 in league. The Titans are 8-3, the Saxons 9-4.

In other GSL matches, Mead (12-0, 6-0) remained perfect with a 6-0 drubbing of North Central at the North Complex. Mead’s Elizabeth Domitor scored two goals. Stacey Drollinger, Danielle Zelinski, Shata Stucky and Natalie Kehl also scored.

Central Valley (5-7-1, 2-5) won 4-0 at Rogers (2-12, 0-5) behind keeper Kelly Jochec’s 14 saves.

Shadle Park (5-6, 3-3), in need of two more wins to get into the playoffs, lost to Lewis and Clark 3-1. The Tigers improved to 3-4, 4-7.
