Gu Edges Portland, 6-5

College baseball/softball

Jason Uberuaga’s two-out, bases-loaded walk forced in Jerrod Wong with the winning run to cap a five-run seventh inning to give Gonzaga a 6-5 West Coast Conference victory over Portland on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader at August/A.R.T. Stadium. The second game was postponed by rain.

The Bulldogs (21-27 overall, 9-17 WCC) came from behind in the final inning for the second straight day against the Pilots (13-32, 4-19).
