Nine Oregon State Athletes Indicted On Theft Charges
Nine Oregon State football players were indicted Friday on theft charges alleging they made thousands of dollars worth of calls on a university credit card.
In all, 11 university students were indicted for making $12,925 worth of phone calls during the past school year, school spokesman Bob Bruce said.
“They were made all over the country and there were some international calls as well,” Bruce said.
The offenses also will be reported to the Pacific-10 Conference for possible conference or NCAA violations, Bruce said. He did not know what any sanctions might be.
Defensive tackle Inoke Breckterfield, 19, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, was among those indicted. He started seven games last season and had 28 unassisted tackles and 19 assisted tackles.
Also indicted was Derrick Poole, 19, of Las Vegas, a running back, who played in six games last season.
Others indicted were cornerback Robert Ruffin, 20, of Stanford, Fla.; fullback Micah Moore, 19, Phoenix; defensive end Darrol Camp, 19, Marrero, La.; wide receiver Cobbe Davis, 20, Humble, Texas; quarterback Todd Harris, 19, Pledger, Texas; and defensive end Jarrod Ogden, 19, Willits, Calif.
