Clemson, Florida Win In Cws
Doug Livingston’s two-run double in the top of the ninth drove in the go-ahead run, and star starter Billy Koch came on in relief to nail down Clemson’s 14-13 victory over Alabama in the College World Series.
Clemson (51-16), which had 17 hits, advanced to today’s bracket semifinals to meet Miami (49-13). A Clemson victory would force a second meeting Friday.
Tommy Bond pitched 7-2/3 solid innings and Chuck Hazzard hit two home runs as Florida eliminated Florida State 6-3.
The victory put the second-seeded Gators (50-17) into Thursday’s Bracket Two semifinal against No. 6 Louisiana State (50-15).
