Gender Bias Cited In Law Schools
Sexism is alive and thriving in American law schools even though nearly half their students are women, an American Bar Association panel found.
“Women continue to encounter significant barriers which prohibit their full and equal participation in law school,” the ABA’s Commission on Women in the Profession said in its report released Friday. “Too many women still experience debilitating gender bias and discrimination in various forms.”
ABA President Roberta Ramo, interviewed while attending her organization’s national convention in Baltimore, called the findings “very troubling.”
