Karrer Cruises In 400 At Sasquatch Open
Spokane Community College’s Ryan Karrer won the 400 meters by almost five full seconds Saturday at the Sasquatch Open at Spokane Falls Community College, and in the women’s category, Whitworth’s Megan Whidhalm and Mirand Burrell finished first and second in the 1,500 meters.
Karrer won with a time of 48.80 seconds while the second-place finisher came in with a time of 53.10.
As for Whidhalm and Burrell, they finished with times of 4 minutes, 59.31 seconds and 5:00.91, respectively.
For Gonzaga, Amanda Legerski won the 100 meters with a time of 13.06.
In men’s and women’s competition, Whitworth competitors finished first in 12 events while SCC participants finished first in four events.
Also, North Idaho College’s Mitch Armuth won the discus event with a toss of 146-feet, 3-inches.
Prep track
Ritzville’s girl’s team won it’s own invitational meet by edging out Newport, 80-79. Thorpe/Kittitas finished in third at 68.
On the boys ledger, Quincy was the big winner as that team registered 117 points.
