Randy Allen Bergheim, (71), of Spokane Valley, WA, passed away on March 5, 2024, from complications of cancer treatment/transplant. Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born in Madison, SD, September 18, 1952, to Donald and Verna Bergheim. Randy attended West Valley High School, where he was a standout athlete in Basketball, and Track and Field, graduating in 1971. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum for nearly 30 years and most recently as a Buyer for the Washington State Department of Corrections since 2006. Randy was a devoted husband to Jackie Bergheim; father to Curtiss Bergheim, Todd and Erik Newsom; father-in-law to Jennifer Bergheim; and grandfather to Cole. The unconditional love and support he provided every day will remain forever in their hearts. He was an extremely hard worker and committed to doing the job the right way; whatever he happened to be doing. It was commonplace to find him at Home Depot, helping friends and family with home improvement projects, finding time for golf, or off on an adventure with Jackie. Randy was a competitive bowler from childhood, competing in leagues and tournaments for over 60 years. He travelled throughout the country competing in 36 ABC/USBC Open Championship tournaments. In addition to bowling, he was an avid golfer at NW golf courses and played in the Dusk Duffer league for almost 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Verna; brother, Richard Bergheim; and sister, Cheryl Jensen. Survived by wife, Jackie Bergheim; sister, Debrah Wallace; sons, Curtiss Bergheim, Todd and Erik Newsom; grandson, Cole; and many extended family. A casual celebration of life is scheduled at Mirabeau Point Park (Pavilion), on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 5:00pm-7:00pm. 13500 E. Mirabeau Pkwy, Spokane, WA 99216.
