Chiefs join six others in clinching
Seven Western Hockey League teams have now clinched postseason berths after the Spokane Chiefs accomplished the feat last weekend. The playoff field, which will ultimately be 16 teams, so far includes Spokane, Kelowna, Portland, Victoria, Seattle, Edmonton and Calgary. Spokane, currently the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, is attempting to catch No. 4 Seattle and gain home-ice advantage.
