OLYMPIA – Transportation projects in the city of Spokane would get more money, but projects in the Valley would get less in the Legislature’s second proposal to raise the state’s gasoline tax by 11.7 cents and raise billions for road and bridge construction.
The other ballot measure in this month's special election to fund transit projects is an extension of a 20-year-old sales tax to fund the county's juvenile detention programs. County commissioners, divided on the transit issue, unanimously endorsed the juvenile jail sales tax on Monday.
OLYMPIA -- House Democrats will release their counter to the Senate gas tax proposal this afternoon.
The House is also expected to debate oil train safety legislation.
