RIVERS -- The Spokane River will be getting some TLC in a volunteer cleanup on Saturday and you're invited to join the effort.

The Spokane Riverkeeper, Rivercity Brewing and Numerica Credit Union are sponsoring the litter clean-up along the shores of the Spokane River to help celebrate the start of the Riverkeeper's Riverwalk series of events.

The crew will meet at Glover Field in Peaceful Valley a 1:30.

Sponsors will provide the gloves, bags, garbage pickers and garbage disposal.

Volunteers simply show up with sturdy footwear. Come dressed for the weather, this is an early season event.

Afterwards, meet at Rivercity Brewing! A portion of their sales come right back to the Spokane Riverkeeper to keep our river clean.
