Melissa: All in a day’s work

"Someone called me a Nazi today. Last week, it was the C-word. All because I answered a newsroom phone. Whatever your political leanings, I wish people would remember that journalists are actual human beings. And, that lumping every journalist, blogger, guy on Twitter and moron with a blog under the heading 'media' makes you look dumb. If you know a journalist who has to answer a newsroom phone or read comments online, buy them a drink. They'll need more than one before the election is over" -- Melissa Luck, executive producer at KXLY-TV.

Question: If the hoi polloi aren't blaming President Obama for everything that goes wrong, it's blaming the media. It must be handy to blame all of life's ills on someone or something. But who do those of us in the media blame when people ask for voter information when we've been providing it for months? I wonder what the approval rating for the public is among the media? Just a thought.
