Friday Quote - Wilderness event TONIGHT

In case you don't have any Friday evening plans yet....

“Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit” - Edward Abbey

Feed your human spirit tonight with a fun-filled event brought to you by Conservation Northwest.  Starting at 6:30 this evening at the Bowl and Pitcher Kitchen Shelter at Riverside State Park, Conservation Northwest will be presenting:

Our Wilderness: America’s Common Ground

Join Conservation Northwest for a very special evening with one of the legends of the wilderness movement, Doug Scott of the Campaign for America’s Wilderness.
An outstanding speaker, historian, and author of several books, Doug Scott, gives a multimedia presentation that includes readings from his newest book, Our Wilderness: America’s Common Ground, as well as slides which demonstrate the history and dynamics of wilderness protection in our country. Tim Coleman, director of the Columbia Highlands Initiative for Conservation Northwest, will give an historical perspective and update on local efforts for wilderness in our beautiful corner of northeast Washington. You’ll also have the opportunity to write a timely letter to Supervisor Brazell urging him to recommend the Colville National Forest's roadless areas for wilderness consideration by Congress.
Copies of Doug Scott’s book will be available for sale and signing. Also available, Columbia Highlands: Exploring Washington’s Last Frontier, by Craig Romano. A portion of all proceeds benefits Conservation Northwest.
This is sure to be an exciting evening for anyone interested in conservation of wildlife, human powered recreation, and wilderness in our region, so bring interested friends, family and neighbors. Newcomers are welcome!

7:30 pm - Conservation Northwest volunteer awards
