Softball roundup: Central Valley edges Lewis and Clark in dueling one-hitters
Kelsey Gumm pitched a one-hit gem, including 13 strikeouts, and Central Valley (4-0, 3-0) defeated Lewis and Clark (2-3, 1-2) 1-0 in a GSL pitchers duel on Monday that saw one hit by each team.
Kylie Pester had a no-hitter through the sixth inning for Lewis and Clark to go with five strikeouts.
Mt. Spokane 18, Shadle Park 3: Jesse Dupuis fired a complete-game three-hitter and added three hits, driving in three, and Katie McKinnis and Hannah Madsen chipped in with three hits apiece as the Wildcats (4-2, 3-1) breezed to a six-inning victory over the host Highlanders (1-4, 1-3). Ariel Hall hit a two-run homer for Shadle.
Mead 30, North Central 1: Tori Veter singled, doubled and tripled twice, driving in four runs, and the visiting Panthers (3-3, 3-1) routed the Indians (0-6, 0-4) in five innings.
University 24, Gonzaga Prep 11: Courtney Richardson had five hits, including four doubles, and the Titans (4-2, 4-0) defeated the visiting Bullpups (2-4, 1-3).
Rogers 11, Ferris 2: Macey Finch threw a three-hitter, with six strikeouts, and the visiting Pirates (3-1, 2-1) handled the Saxons (0-3, 0-3). Gracie Olsen had three hits for Rogers, including a double.
