Landslide suspends Amtrak’s Seattle-Portland service

Associated Press

OLYMPIA – Amtrak officials said a landslide between Portland and Seattle has suspended service between the cities.

Officials said the landslide on Saturday north of Olympia will keep the route closed until Sunday.

BNSF Railway owns the track and has placed a 48-hour moratorium on service in the area.

Amtrak said it’s seeking alternate transportation for service between Kelso and Seattle.
