Boys soccer roundup: Diego Esquivel’s goal helps Post Falls advance to Idaho 5A championship

Post Falls 2, Boise 1: Diego Esquivel scored in the 21st minute and added the final shootout goal and Post Falls beat Boise 2-1 (4-2 in shootout) in an Idaho 5A semifinal match at Eagle High School on Friday.The Trojans will play Borah tomorrow in the 5A championship.

Caldwell 1, Sandpoint 0: Sandpoint lost to Caldwell 1-0 (3-1 in shootout) at Brothers Park, Caldwell on Friday in the semifinals of the Idaho 4A State Tournament. The Bulldogs will play Ridgevue tomorrow for third place.

Bonners Ferry 2, Teton 1: Tyler Beazer scored the go-ahead goal in the 64th minute and Bonners Ferry beat Teton 2-1 at Vallivue HS in an Idaho 3A State Tournament match. Isaac Wilson scored first for the Badgers in the 24th minute. Bonners Ferry advances to play Sugar-Salem in the championship of the 3A consolation bracket.

Mountain View (Meridian) 1, Coeur d’Alene 0: Coeur d’Alene lost to Mountain View (Meridian) 1-0 at Rocky Mountain HS in the consolation semifinals of the Idaho 5A State Tournament.
