PULLMAN – Washington State will plunge into the Apple Cup as the country’s 14th-ranked football team, according to the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Cougars moved up one spot from No. 15 Sunday morning despite being on a bye week. WSU checked in at No. 15 in the Amway Coaches Poll, up one spot from No. 16.

The Nov. 25 Apple Cup in Seattle will be a matchup of top-15 teams. Washington jumped one spot to No. 15 in the AP poll after an epic win over Utah Saturday at Husky Stadium.

USC once again holds the highest ranking among Pac-12 teams. The Trojans moved up to No. 11 after beating UCLA Saturday. Stanford stayed put at No. 20 despite knocking off Cal in the Big Game.

The Cougars and Cardinal are still the only teams in contention for a Pac-12 North title. WSU can win it by simply beating UW in the Apple Cup. Stanford can win it with a Cougars loss.
