Portugal. The Man will headline this summer’s Gleason Fest, joined by special guests Pickwick and Delbert the Band. Additional acts will be announced soon.

The festival, set for Aug. 6, also is getting a new locale: Riverfront Park’s Lilac Bowl. Previous Gleason Fests have been held at Main Avenue and Division Street.

Spokane native Steve Gleason played football for Gonzaga Prep and Washington State University before his eight-year career with the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. In 2011, he revealed he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease or ALS. He is scheduled to appear at Gleason Fest.

Proceeds from Gleason Fest support the Gleason Initiative Foundation. Tickets are $25 and are on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Friday through TicketsWest. For more information, visit gleasonfest.org.
