Morning links: WSU prepares for Arizona ground game

The Washington State football team will have a tough challenge ahead of it this week to stop Arizona's explosive running game.

I explored that angle in today's story for the paper and it's a topic I explored in my blog post looking back at Saturday's win over Oregon State.

If the Cougars can pick up a win over the Wildcats, they'll be just one win short of bowl qualification. Quite a few writers are already projecting the Cougars to play in the postseason. And the Cougars are high up in these Pac-12 Power Rankings. Dom Williams is the recipient of a helmet sticker from the Pac-12 Blog.

The UCLA defense still needs work. … The Utah Utes are the No. 3 team in the country. … There was a scary moment on the sideline during Saturday's game between USC and Notre Dame when Trojans athletic director Pat Haden needed medical attention. But he seems to be in good spirits.
